- ICOM IC-756PROIII
- This ICOM is my preferred radio as it has spectrum scope.
I do some out of Amateur band SWLing and the scope is great for this.
This radio has a SP-5 Yaesu speaker complete with the phone patch ( some day I may even use it).
This radio is setup for soundcard modes.
It is also setup for CFARS (MARS) digital modes.
The microphone is a boom MIC I reclaimed from my audio P.A. servicing days.
It is a typical hand held dynamic MIC that a singer might use and it is mounted on a old flexible lamp mount.
- Kenwood TS-2000
- Radio is currently connected to a PTC-IIusb PactorIII modem.
It will also be used for CFARS (MARS) digital modes.
See VE6GPS HF and VE6GPS-10 VHF, RMS gateway. It is currenly connected to an SCS PTC-iiUSB pactor modem for Winlink service
- HF Mobile radios
- The mobile is an IC 7000 complete with an AH4 ICOM antenna tuner.
The antenna is a modified hustler with a set of different coils,
I also have several methods of increasing the length to improve radiation when stopped
- VHF/UHF radios
- I also have a Kenwood 700D in the Mobile.
- APRS Tiny Track
- A Yaesu commericial rig modified for 2 meters and
fitted to the tiny track and to a Motorla GPS ( currently offline )
- Ameritron AL-1200 Amplifier
- The AL-1200 has not be modified for QSK, someday maybe,
it is currently connected to the IC-756ProIII
- Heathkit SB220 Amplifier
- The SB 220 is currently my standby amplifier and is in very good working order.
and is connect to the TS2000 shouil it be required
- AlfaSpid, RAK antenna rotator
- The rotator is mounted in the lower part of the tower
to reduce the torque on the upper part of the tower.
The controller is connected to a computer via an RS232C port.
The unit has a mouse for quick selection of the presets.
The AlfaSpid Rotator works very well down to -40 C
- AlfaSpid antenna switch
- The antennas are switched by the SPID antenna switch.
All feed line are "hard line" 1/2 " or 7/8" execpe fora few jumpers. - Power for all radio is from batteries and a backup generator can be brought on line manually.
